The Chairman Jos Main market Union Condemned The Act Of Some Mischievous Traders Who Are Hell Bent On Disobeying Government Executive Orders And Causing trouble, He Also Condole With The Nigerian Police And The Family of the Gallant Officer Who Lost His Life While On Duty.
The Chairman of the union Comr. Mustapha Ibrahim made this known in a press statement signed by him and made available to news men in Jos over the unfortunate incident that occured at Ahmadu Bello way that led to the death of a police officer who is with the task force on enforcement of law and order with the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB), and also Condole with the GM Hart Bankat over the death of the officer assigned to his agency for enforcement.
The statement reads as follows:-
The Jos main market union received with shock the unfortunate event that took place at Ahmadu Bello way which led to the death of a police officer, we members of the union Condemned the act of disobedience perpetrated by some mischievous traders causing problem who want to give the union and traders a bad name.
As a union we have always obeyed any government order and directives, we always cooperate with them we have a good working relationship with the government, the union always support government policies, the space allocated to us by the government to move to is duely utilized by the union, and the traders have been given the space and market is currently going on there except for those mischievous traders who refused to relocate and creating unnecessary scene. We condemn such unruly behaviors of such traders and urge the government to deal decisively with those trouble traders that disobeyed government orders.
We as a union use this opportunity to call on government to deal with all those who faulted government orders and decided to go back to occupy where the government prohibit them to stay to give the state a good facelift.
Government should accept their assurance to continue to work with them and give them the necessary cooperation for the betterment, development and progress of plateau state and to ensure that traders act based on government directives and order to also keep the market clean for hygienic environment.
We also urge the government to provide more space for the traders to avoid decongestion, the union appreciate His Excellency Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his civil approach and providing the space for the traders to move they also appreciate the general manager JMDB Hart Bankat, the commissioner of commerce and industry, acting GM Jos main market Authority and all the security agencies for their cooperation and understanding for ensuring law and order in a more civil way.
Once again we regret any inconveniences of the action of some unruly traders who may have caused the government and the security agencies. Accept our assurance to continue to cooperate with you.
